  • food scale

    having a food scale has changed my eating entirely. it was thirty bucks and is pretty nice. instead of just tossing stuff in my salad and guessing the calories, i can measure it out by ounces. doing it by ounces is so much easier because its often that way on the package (like hummus. how the fuck can i eyeball an ounce of hummus?) and i zero out the container i use and add it. and when you look up calories online theyre often in ounces and you have to convert and feel like an idiot. its one less step.

     

    tonight i was making tomorrows lunch salad so i put the lettuce in the container, put it on the scale, zeroed it out, and added dried cranberries til it was exactly an ounce, then the goat cheese, then the sunflower seeds. and i realized that i was putting waaaaay more in when i wasnt weighing. 

     

    this also helps not to waste food. if i think one serving of cranberries is three times bigger than it really is, im flying through them. this way it actually lasts the whole week.

     

    i highly recommend one!

  • its so much easier being friends with girls who dont like to pig out, they never wanna go out to eat at fattening places and always understand why im eating raw carrots. i LOVE when my work friends are like "youre not eating? good." just way easier. i hate when people try to make you eat. im not skinny so its not like theyre worried about me.

  • i always eat the healthiest food during the day. not just low calorie but legitimately super healthy, organic, unprocessed.

     

    then ten pm comes, my bf gets home, i make him dinner, and i bloat myself. i never mean to eat it. but its always so good and im hungry by ten. bleugh

  • Homemade

    I'm pretty boring, it's more fun to stalk you guys...

    So. I've gained weight. I don't think anyone on here now used to follow me so I can start fresh anyways. I gained a lot of weight actually. I've lost 20 so far and want to lose like 80 more. Gross, I know. As fat as I am right now, I am a very healthy eater. Kind of. Meaning, I love healthy food and I am happier when I'm eating it exclusively. But sometimes I eat shit. And a lot of it. My weaknesses aren't things like McDonalds but more things like pasta with a ton of veggies and cheese or organic but fattening pizza or lamb chops with a ton of mashed potatoes. Stuff that is certainly fancy and nutritional, but highly fattening. Anyways I'm back into health.

    I'm trying to start making everything I can homemade. This week I made homemade granola bars (recipe below) and homemade butter. I know butter is bad but I use it for my bf a lot and I use it when I make big dinners on our day off. I'm gonna make homemade veggie burgers and homemade bread this week and try to make homemade pasta sometime soon. 

     

    The recipe for the granola bars is actually for cookies but I altered it and it ended up spreading into the pan and turned into a giant granola bar. I used macadamia nuts instead of raisins and whatever else, because they're more delicious. Molasses is gross, I won't use it next time, and I plan to halve the honey and add a mashed banana and some homemade applesauce. For breakfast it's so easy to grab a chunk of this and an apple, and you're done.

  • what exercise can i do in my house thats lowkey? im sick but wanna burn calories somehow without going too nuts.
